Maddie and Sasha almost ready for Christmas

My son Sasha and grand daughter Maddie are a father and daughter pair who live on the BC coast with Marlene and Ken.  As you can see they are almost ready for Christmas.

Maddie thinks she's the best Christmas decoration - even when she's hiding under the Christmas Tree

Sasha is just taking life easy and waiting to get gift wrapped.

As you can see they are both taking the perfect cat like approach to enjoying the holiday season.

Black Kitten

The typist has been complaining about the challenges of taking pictures of Black kittens.  As you can see they are actually many colours  but their features all tend to blend together in most light.

When you can actually see them - they are pretty darn cute!

Litter I born September 10, 2012

I'm proud to say that I now have 7 beautiful grandchildren that will be 5 wks old tomorrow.  There are four classic tabbies boys, two black girls and one black girl.  My beautiful daughter Anna is doing a great job of mothering this every hungry gang.

You can see what beautiful bright-eyed beauties they've become.  They are starting to explore outside their basket and there will be more pictures soon of playful antics.

Chunky Monkeys

Well Litter H is certainly growing up quickly.  At three weeks they are quite the little butterballs who are starting to move about and play, play, play.  Hence the name Chunky Monkeys!

Their mother Elina continues to be an excellent mother who feeds her kittens well.  They have been gaining 15-25 gms per day. This week they will probably be venturing out of their home basket so we should have some action photos for the next post.

Hope you enjoy my cute grandbabies as much as I do.

Murlyka Dainty Bess (Kaede) and Murlyka Distant Drums (Karumi)

Just over 2 years ago Prekrasne Roxie Hart of Murlyka and my son Sasha had an amazing litter of 7 kittens.  These two beautiful girls from that litter went to the lower Mainland to live with Karou and her husband.  They fittingly received Japanese names Kaede (Maple tree) and Kurumi (Walnut tree).

They were best buddies then and remain best buddies at 2 years old.

Just checking - no bugs in the bathtub!

Karou reports that they are wonderful girls, who love to chat and trill and bug catchers extrordinarie1

Murlyka Eliza (Milaya)

Happy Birthday Milaya

Murlyka Eliza (now known as Milaya aka the Princess) turned one year in May.  Her owner Suzanne sent us some great pictures.  As you can see from the pictures she is not a big girl,  but  does she has my beautiful warm brown tabby coloring, personality and energy to burn.   Of course until the energy is all burnt up.  (See below)

Love to see my babies in happy homes and Milaya is definitely seems very happy in hers.

And then there were five

Sadly, one of the tabby with white boys died yesterday -  he never learned to nurse and then got an infection. Despite round the clock care by the typist - it was just too much for his little system. Much as we hate to lose a baby - his struggles are now over.
The good news is the other five kittens in the H litter are definitely thriving and are fat and healthy.  Their mother Elina is proving to be an excellent mother.  Little Heather, the only girl, has doubled her birth weight and now weighs a whopping (for her) 149 gms - just a bit bigger than her brothers when they were born. She may not be the biggest but she is probably the feistiest.

Litter D Second B/D

Well with all the excitement with Elina and Wulfgar's new litter - we almost forgot that litter D was born May 28, 2010.  So happy second Birthday to them all!

Maddie is such a warm brown that she had all the judges mistaking her for a torbie.  She still has the lovely coloring!

Marlene and Ken the owners of Maddie (Murlyka Dream Come True) were the first to check in.  Maddie lives with Dad [ the wonderful love bug Murlyka Alexandre (Sasha)] in Halfmoon Bay. BC
Sasha and his friend Elmo.

She and Sasha have a great outdoor run and as  you can see a great life indoors as well.

Good to see my son and grandbaby in a happy home!

Litter H has arrived

Well my dear daughter Elina had her first litter of kittens with our new stud - the sweet boy QGC Mystic Melody Wulfgar.
 Blue Boy
 Black Tabby Boy 1
 Tabby with White Boy 1
Our tiny girl and one of her big brothers
 Tabby with White Boy 2
 Tabby Boy 2
Elina and Babies

She did need a c-section but thanks to exemplary veterinary care - mother and babies are all fine.  There are 5 big boys (around 128 -132 gms) and one tiny little girl (74 gms).  Despite her small size she was the first to figure how to latch on and is nursing all the time (as you can see from her picture above) - so we are confident she will gain weight quickly.

So I think I now have about 15 grandchildren.  Looking forward to having more.

George (Murlyka First Prize) and his best friend

Although we don't have any dogs here in Sunshine Bay ( we do listen to the coyotes howl every day though) - our kittens don't have any trouble adapting to life with a canine friend.

Here are some beautiful pictures of my fine son George (formerly Pritzy from Litter F) and his best buddy Jake.  Now it really helped that Jake is a very well trained and well mannered 7 year old dog but George soon figured that despite the size difference Jake would make the perfect play companion.  I'm not sure Jake feels the same but he takes in stride this pushy little new comer in his household.

" Pssst!  Jake are you awake?  Want to play?"
    " I got you!"

Thanks to George's owner Michelle for the great pictures.

Murlyka Eisenach

I'm very excited and proud to say that my boy Eisenach (Sena - also known at his home in New Brunswick as Kody) had a very good first show in TICA.  At 11 mons old in his first show as an adult he was showing against the second highest point Siberian alter in the world and still won 5 finals including a Best Cat.  His owner Diane reports he has the perfect show personality - and is a big love bug.  You can see from his pictures from the show, he was very relaxed he and how much he takes after his handsome Dad!  He is one very sturdy guy!

I'm sure his mom Roxy (now retired and living in Edmonton) is very proud as well.

This is Miisu and her beautiful little girl Only. She is a classic torbie with white like her mother but her tabby striping is hard to see at the moment. With handsome Wulgar as her dad we are expecting she will be every bit as beautiful as her mom.

Miisu is a very protective mom and it's been hard to get pictures but at 3. 5 wks, Only is striving for independence and action!  We've never had a singleton kitten before - so we are trying to provide some of the play that her siblings would normally provide.

Roxie at Play

We just received a video of Roxie playing in her new home. After being a great mom to Litters D & F she retired to Edmonton where she is pampered royally by her new owner Maria. She is very happy to be the only cat and get all the attention.

As you can see from the video she has become even more beautiful in her retirement!

Wulfgar enjoying the sun

Judith (Wulfgar's breeder) has been wanting to see pictures of Wulfgar in the snowy Canadian wilderness. Unfortunately its been raining/blowing/sleeting most days. Today there was sunshine so Wulfgar put on his harness. However when he got outside - there was just too much outdoors and he decided he just wanted to sit in the sun on the patio.

Maybe tomorrow he'll venture off the patio and try out the snow.

What a sweet boy - and a handsome devil to boot!

Fred and Sunny living the good life in Kelowna

Sunny and Fred are playing up a storm in their new home with Ken and Deb. These little darlings have fit right in and as you can see they get lots of toys and attention. Can they help it if they are just too cute for words. Looking forward to seeing more pictures of them as they grow.
