Welcome Back!

The typist has been away visiting with her mom and other relatives in BC. Although the spouse takes good care of us - I just can't get him to type for me. So hence the long hiatus between posts. The kittens are now 10 weeks today. They are getting very big - with Ali the largest and Sasha close behind (both at 3.5 lbs/ 1570 gms). Toni is going to a bit more petite - more like her mom. Since the kittens are eating more and more solid food and Anya does not have to be on call all the time - I've been recruited to do some kitten sitting. Above you see me trying to keep a eye on them all. No easy task!
As any parent knows children don't always follow directions.
They also demand a lot of attention.
I try to set a good example...
Teaching hygiene. Going for father-son walks...
But with kittens things do happen....
And I think the typist blames me for this - if you notice Anya's ear is in the picture -but she left the scene of the mishap pretty quickly! But I took responsibility for it all and even gave moral support as the typist cleaned up.
The typist says we got to wrap up - so here's some birthday photos of my beautiful girls and my mellow boy.Sasha
Bye for now.

On the eve of their 7 week birthday

Greetings! I never thought that 17 months I'd be feeling old but seven week old kittens can do that to you. Everyday this week, they went further, faster, higher and longer. It seems that play, play and more play is the only thing on their calenders.

But tiring as it is - its great fun. Then now run from one end the house to the other and quickly back again. They do stop for food - as you can see from above where they are fueling up for the next set of races.

The typist is visiting her mother for a few weeks so this is a short post.
I've just attached pictures of the kittens - You can see their lovely warm brown colors!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Welcome back - here you see me taking some time to "stop and smell the roses"- well in my case its grass. With busy, busy kittens its hard to take anytime for yourself. Five weeks have flown by - the kittens are growing quickly. They becoming fierce (but lovable) little tigers with nice lynx tips on their ears and longer, fluffier coats. They are also much more mobile - they spent the afternoon in the living room (a first!!), climbing and wrestling. They even took time out from their play to help the typist on the laptop.
That's Ali on the keyboard and Sasha's face and Toni's leg in the little house I brought with me from Finland.

Ali is still the largest by 20 gms but they are all over 700 grams. They all have discovered raw food and attack their Feline Future chicken with a vengeance. Overall they still prefer Mom's milk bar as you can see below.

The kittens are also living up to the Murlyka Cattery name. Murlyka is from the Russian to purr. The cattery was named because of our amazing and constant purrs: Anya - a beautiful trilling and chirping purr; - my deep and masculine rumble: our two buddies - Prekrasne Daniela- for her steady motor and Tazmin-who purrs loudly and constantly. The kittens now purr when snuggled in their bed, when petted and of course when eating at Mom's.

This is Toni -Surveying the world from her Finnish Cat house. She's also very meticulous-you often catch her washing her hands!

Ali is often the first to go on new adventures! On the left you see her running out to see what's new and below watching a spider climb up the wall.

Sasha is a tough little guy who's also ready for anything.

He and his sisters wrestle all the time.

Sasha has the upper paw.
Then Toni makes a counter move. This is all very important practice to become great hunters like Anya and myself.

The kittens' eye color is changing from generic kitten color to what will be their adult color. We are hoping that all three kittens have beautiful green eyes like their mother but time will tell. What color do you think Ali's eyes will be?

This was a rather long post but I had lots of news to share. Hope you enjoyed the latest update. Please share any comments. Bye for now.

Catching up on sleep!

Hi! As you can see I'm catching up on sleep. As anyone with a newborn can tell you - sleep is a hard-to- come -by commodity! Anya tells me she has even less opportunity for sleep - so I decided I can help out by sleeping for both of us! That's just the kind of thoughtful guy I am.

Anya tells me though its much harder to sleep with 3 little ones checking out your every move!

Three Weeks and on the Move!

Welcome Back!
Its been a good week for hunting - Here you see me checking out the yard for grasshoppers. But my best hunting has been in the Lion's Den (my outdoor cage). I caught my second mouse there last night!

Well I know you'd rather hear about the kittens. They are still growing - all over 500 gms and they on the move.

All this movement doesn't make their mother Anya very happy - she still likes them best cuddled up in the corner and she's always trying to corral them back home.
Here are their latest pictures. That's Ali on the left and Toni on the right as they toddle out to see the world.

Below is Sasha who stayed at home to keep Mom happy.

They are starting to show their own little personalities. All delightful of course! Right now they are bit more like their mom - a little bit cautious - but I'm sure by next week they be taking after their dad - ready for anything!

Bye for now.

Two weeks and a day!

Hi - I'm with my friend Lia (she's the Typist's niece). Her brother Dominic took the picture. They came to visit for a few days - which was great - I got lots of attention!!!

Enough about me. I know you're all here for a long overdue kitten update. The kittens have tripled their birthweight and are well on their way to quadrupling it! They also have had their eyes open for a couple of days. Their markings are becoming more distinct every day. Check out their pictures!

This is Sasha at one week and below is Sasha at 2 weeks. Seems like we're having some technical difficulties - the rest of the pictures will be in the next post.

The kittens are 3 days old

Hi Again.
Sorry for the delay - things have been busy here. The Typist (Owner/Slave) hasn't had time to assist me -something about building a new house.

I hear human fathers sometimes smoke exotic cigars to celebrate the birth of their kids.
I much prefer sampling some exotic grass (see picture above) - much healthier.

Well I'm very proud of the babies. They have gained at least 16 gms every day and are changing rapidly. The two girls definitely are classic (blotched) tabbies and they are all getting more and more toffee brown coloring to contrast with their black. Check out the picture below from day one

We have also named the kittens Murlyka Alina (Ali), Murlyka Alexandre (Sasha), Murlyka Antonia (Toni). I'll put individual pictures on a later post.
Bye for now.
